Cross-Cultural Connections is partnering with the Congress of the South 40 to host a Black History Month Kickoff Celebration. This event will invite different student organizations representing Black identities to table, promote their events, and lead an activity to engage in Black History Month. We will bring in local Black-owned small businesses to sell products and food to help our students at WashU become more familiar with Black-owned businesses in our community.
The skills we will be strengthening through this program are as follows
- Community building and engagement
- Cultural appreciation and exchange
- Leadership and dialogue skills for student organizations reaching out to students
