Cross-Cultural Connections and Spectrum are partnering with local queer art co-op, Swan Meadow, to bring a Queer Portraiture Workshop to WashU during Spectrum’s Pride Week. This workshop will address the representation of queer expression in professional settings, setting up students to be able to put their authentic selves forward when taking the next steps in their professional careers. We will be creating a photo studio, encouraging students to dress however they’d like, while incorporating creative modes of portraiture to best capture students in the lens they want to be seen in.
This event aims to strengthens students’ ability to:
- Feel confident in their explorations of professionalism and self-development.
- Maintain a positive personal brand in alignment with organization and personal career values.
- Reflect on personal values and how to translate them to make them visible.
