After our CDI book club read Elatsoe in November\, we are bringing Darcie to campus to give a reading from Elatsoe. This reading will give students a behind the scenes look at Darcie’s process of crafting Elatsoe\, the ability to ask questions about their work\, and learn how their Apache heritage influenced the creation of the Indigenous characters in the story. \n\n\n\nThis reading aims to strengthen students’ ability to: \n\n\n\n\nEngage in cultural appreciation. \n\n\n\n\n\nCritically think about the craft of writing\, story structure\, and the process of writing a novel. \n\n\n\n\n\nCommunity building\n\n\n\n\n\n
